Bachelor of Business (Hons)

"I joined the Glanbia graduate programme in 2007 as a marketing graduate. My first placement was in the Consumer Foods Division in Dublin working on the Avonmore Brand Marketing Team. For 6 months I was involved in all aspects of marketing Glanbia's consumer cheese products including new product development and advertising design. My second placement was also in Dublin and lasted for one year on the Consumer Insights team. I really enjoyed this role as it gave me the opportunity to work across all Consumer Foods categories and involved market research, market-share tracking and forecasting. My final placement on the graduate programme was in the USA. I moved to the States in 2009 to work on the development of Glanbia Nutritionals' first proprietary consumer nutritionals brand - beveri™. This was a very exciting and challenging role as it involved the development of an entirely new brand and product range. I continue to work in brand management for beveri™ in Madison, WI. The Glanbia graduate programme was both challenging and rewarding and has allowed me to gain a very broad range of experience across several different roles, divisions and countries."

B. Mechanical Engineering, UCD
"I studied Mechanical Engineering and graduated from UCD in 2010. I had a work placement with a company who supply technology to the dairy industry; this inspired my interest in dairy and food technology. Obviously Glanbia was the company that attracted me due to their global leadership in dairy processing. I was fortunate enough to be offered a position on the Glanbia Graduate Programme. My first placement was in Consumer Foods Ireland, where I was immediately given responsibility for several capital projects in the Drogheda and Ballitore plants. There I also learned the basics of good project management. My second and current placement is in our Nutritionals facility in San Diego. Here I am involved in a major project consolidating several plants to one site. The programme is giving me great experience in time, project and budget management while the downtime also allows me to enjoy the sunshine and adventures that the west coast has to offer. I am looking forward to completing the assignment, enjoying California and learning to surf before moving onto the next busy placement!"

MBS Supply Chain Management
Smurfit School of Business.
I joined the Glanbia programme in 2007; from my first days on the programme I was confident that this was the programme for me; I got the opportunity to enhance the skills from my degree and work experience and also the training and development to grow my career with Glanbia.
I got the opportunity to study the ACCA diploma in financial management and I took part in the Irish Management Institute course. These courses coupled with the SAP training that I received have allowed me to transition into a permanent role in the business.
On my first placement I worked for group IT as a SAP business analyst. I underwent a 6 month SAP training programme to learn the fundamentals of SAP. I then worked on several projects such as the roll out of SAP to newly acquired business units and the implementation of the HR module across the entire Glanbia group.
When I completed the Graduate programme, I was offered the role of Supply Chain Coordinator for Optimum Nutrition EMEA Ltd, a newly acquired Glanbia Nutritionals business. This was a very exciting time as the supply chain function had not been fully embedded. I found this role interesting, exciting and challenging as I had a lot more responsibility and was able to use my knowledge of SAP supply chain to develop their supply chain department.
As a graduate, the placements were chosen for me in areas that best suited my skills. I believe that I have grown and developed in the last four years, but it doesn't stop here! My development will continue because of the opportunities that are presented to me by Glanbia.
