2 in a row as Glanbia sweeps the boards at Nantwich International Cheese Show

Pictured are the proud Glanbia team with the awardsGlanbia Ingredients the makers of Kilmeaden and Avonmore cheese has retained two prestigious trophies and scooped an additional trophy, two gold medals and one silver medal in the Class Awards at Nantwich International Cheese Show last week. Glanbia retained the Fayrefield Trophy for the best overseas cheddar and the Kerrygold trophy for the best Irish Cheddar. In addition, it secured the Guy Smith Trophy presented by Dairygold UK for the best mature cheddar cheese, two gold medals for mild cheddar cheese and mature cheddar cheese and a silver medal for single Irish cheddar.

The Nantwich International Cheese show is considered to be the top cheddar cheese show in the world and over 30,000 visitors attended this year and has been running now for 113 years.

Jim Bergin, CEO, Glanbia Ingredients Ireland said "Glanbia is very proud of these awards especially because they are across a number of categories including mild, mature and sweet mature cheddar. Glanbia win CSR Award at All Ireland Marketing Awards 2010Glanbia Consumer Products won the CSR Award at the All Ireland Marketing Awards 2010 for its 'Avonmore Big Picnic for Barretstown' campaign. This programme was supported by an extensive communications campaign including on-pack promotions, advertising, digital, and television sponsorship. Robert Jordan, who received the award for Glanbia said: "We are delighted to win this award with Barretstown because it is such an inspirational place. The work they do there helps transform the lives of families that have suffered from serious childhood illnesses, and we want to help send more families every year". 9 medals at 2009 US Cheese Championship

Glanbia Wins Published Accounts AwardCongratulations to the winning teams at Foods Inc. and Southwest Cheese on their record-breaking nine awards for making some of the best cheese in the United States. The Foods Inc. team won two gold, four silver and two bronze medals and the Southwest Cheese team won a gold medal also. Glanbia's cheeses won their categories against over 1,336 entries from around the country.

Glanbia Wins Business & Finance Company of the Year Award

Glanbia Wins Business & Finance Company of the Year AwardGlanbia has been awarded the prestigious Business & Finance "Company of the Year Award" at a special function in O'Reilly Hall, UCD on Thursday, 11th December. The Business & Finance Awards have been recognising excellence in Irish Business for over 30 years and is the longest running and most coveted business awards programme in Ireland. Speaking at the event, Group Managing Director John Moloney said that "Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it - and this to a degree could be said of this win".

Glanbia Wins Published Accounts AwardGlanbia has been recognised for excellence in financial reporting with the news that we won the prestigious Leinster Society of Chartered Accountants, Published Accounts Award for small to medium quoted companies. Annnounced on 20 November, the Awards, sponsored by the Irish Stock Exchange, reward companies for excellence in financial reporting in Ireland and this year's shortlist includes a total of 23 companies, not-for-profit organisations and charities. The award was accepted by Deputy Group Finance Director, Siobhan Talbot, on behalf of the Group.

 
 

Glanbia first Dairy Company to receive IS 393 Energy Award

Glanbia first Dairy Company to receive is 393 Energy Award7878 Glanbia Ingredients Ireland was the first Irish owned company, and the first dairy company in the world, to achieve certification under the IS 393 Energy Management System for improvements in energy efficiency. The standard is the EU model for best energy practice and was developed by Sustainable Energy Ireland in conjunction with the National Standards Authority of Ireland.

 
 

Opening of Glanbia Nutritionals' Suzhou Facility

Opening of Glanbia Nutritionals' Suzhou FacilityGlanbia Nutritionals vitamin and premix facility in Suzhou located just outside Shanghai, China was officially opened on the 27th March 2008. Hugh McGuire, CEO Glanbia Nutritionals Customised Solutions, welcomed over 120 guests including customers from China, Australia, The Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia to the opening ceremony and gala dinner. The opening was marked by a special welcome ceremony from Chinese drummers and the official opening dragons.
