The Group operates in seven countries and has sales offices in a further five. International operations include Food Ingredients & Nutritionals, while Irish operations incorporate Consumer Foods and Agribusiness & Property. The Group has three strategic joint ventures, which are based in the UK, USA and Nigeria.

International operations contributed 71% of 2008 revenue and 65% of operating profit pre exceptional. Irish operations accounted for 29% of 2008 revenue and 35% of 2008 operating profit pre exceptional. These percentages include the Group's share of Joint Ventures
& Associates.

The Group now reports under four operating segments: US Cheese & Global Nutritionals; Dairy Ireland (Dairy Ingredients, Consumer Products & Agribusiness); Joint Ventures & Associates; and Other. This change is reflected in the Half Year Results and will be reflected across the website following the Full Year Results in March 2010.
